Historic Tampa Bakery Serves Customers Locally and Nationwide
La Segunda Central Bakery is a Tampa landmark, with deep roots in the historic neighborhood of Ybor City. When our doors opened in 1915, founder Juan Moré began sharing his passion for authentic Cuban bread and culture with the local factory workers of the booming cigar industry. Nearly 100 years later, and in our fourth generation of family operation, La Segunda continues to share our rich Cuban bread heritage with Tampa Bay area residents and customers across the country.
La Segunda is a Tampa bakery committed to providing our customers near and far with the utmost in consistently fresh and flavorful products. Locals visit our Tampa bakery storefront to experience our true artisan Cuban bread, which is crafted in the traditional 36-inch loaf style, using the same recipe Moré discovered generations ago. From our carefully selected ingredients to the signature palmetto leaf that tops each loaf, the taste, texture, and authenticity of our Cuban bread is second to none. In addition to our delicious Cuban bread, we also offer our local customers a variety of other traditional sweets and savory items, such as scacciata (a.k.a. “cold pizza”), media noche sandwiches, guava turnovers, and more.
Although our loyal, daily customers have made us one of the most well-known bakeries in Tampa, our commercial bakery business has allowed our Cuban bread to reach the patrons of restaurants, hotels, schools, entertainment parks, and casinos across the country. We proudly supply wholesale bread in specially-sized 18-inch loaves, which offer an efficient shipping and storing option for our commercial customers.
